The Vanguard Market Development Award, established this year by the IIS, recognizes those who have substantially advanced the development of insurance in an underserved market or emerging economy.

Lawrence Cheng, from Peak Re, Ayodele Iyun from Custodian & Allied Insurance, and Carmony Wong from RGA were also recognized as the 2019 Leaders of Tomorrow Leadership Honorees.
New York, New York – May 16, 2019 The International Insurance Society has designated four universities as Global Centers of Insurance Excellence (GCIE) in 2019. The GCIE certification program recognizes outstanding risk management and insurance programs that play an integral role in promoting insurance knowledge and research. Since the inception in 2017, the program has designated 34 universities across 11 countries.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) has announced Michael Butt OBE, Chairman of Axis Capital, as the 2019 Insurance Hall of Fame Laureate. Mr. Butt will be honored at the June 20th Gala Awards dinner taking place at the IIS Global Insurance Forum at the Shangri-La Singapore, June 18th – 21st.
Nine universities will be designated by the International Insurance Society as Global Centers of Insurance Excellence (GCIE) in 2018. In total, the program has recognized 29 programs from 10 countries.
