New York, New York – May 16, 2019 The International Insurance Society has designated four universities as Global Centers of Insurance Excellence (GCIE) in 2019. The GCIE certification program recognizes outstanding risk management and insurance programs that play an integral role in promoting insurance knowledge and research. Since the inception in 2017, the program has designated 34 universities across 11 countries.

The International Insurance Society (IIS) has announced Michael Butt OBE, Chairman of Axis Capital, as the 2019 Insurance Hall of Fame Laureate. Mr. Butt will be honored at the June 20th Gala Awards dinner taking place at the IIS Global Insurance Forum at the Shangri-La Singapore, June 18th – 21st.
